The National Company for Highways and National Roads in Romania hired Arcada Company SA in Galati to restore the Cernavoda Bridge over the Danube River. The contract is worth 9.48 million Euro before taxation, according to Mediafax.
Arcada Co. took one of the three contracts which aim at consolidating and rehabilitate the bridge and pipes crossing the Danube at DN 22C km 1+978.
Arcada's part will be to restore 566 meters of bridge, replace some of the pipes and concrete walls.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will cover 57% of the funds, and the Romanian Executive the rest of them.
Arcada Co. is specialized in railway, road, bridge and industrial constructions and is owned by Spiru Mantu and Mihai Huma, each with 44% of the shares.
