PD-L moves its political commentators from the Cotroceni Palace on the party lists. Sever Voinescu has announced his candidacy for the Parliament yesterday, along with the head of the Presidential Common Room, Catalin Avramescu. Traian Ungureanu is next or maybe even Gabriel Liiceanu.

Sever Voinescu and Catalin Avramescu have decided to show their party color. After the announcement made in the column in Cotidianul (under the headline "Goodbye") about his candidacy for the Parliament for PD-L, Sever Voinescu appeared yesterday in the press conference along with state councilor from Cotroceni, the successor of Elena Udrea as head of the Presidential Common Room, Catalin Avramescu. This is who PD-L intends to oppose to Adrian Nastase, in Mizil, even though the former PM runs for the Chamber of Deputies, while Avramescu is interested in the Senate. The Presidential Adviser says Mizil is the city where he was born and the only place where he could run for a position, because he doesn’t like political tourism, but he confirmed he wanted to contribute to a "change in the Parliament." "I do not have a personal war with anybody. I have something against a system. My problem does not regard the other candidates, but a system. I hope I can contribute to Romania's comeback on the decent direction. Why PD-L? Because I think that we must get a majority in these elections to be able to make a change", Catalin Avramescu explained. Avramescu announced that he would not resign from Cotroceni during the campaign. Although Theodor Stolojan was forced to quit his role as presidential adviser when he became a PLD leader.

THE REFUSED AMBASSADOR. Publicist Sever Voinescu, proposed last year by President Basescu for the position of ambassador in Washington and refused by the parliamentary committees, will run for the Ploiesti position, in a neighborhood where he grew up. "If people of good faith do not get involved now, very soon, all of us, the group called Romania, could turn into a sort of herd of herbivores walking straight to the swamp with crocodiles", Voinescu confessed his motivation. Not too much on the money that will finance the campaigns. Avramescu bets on a door-to-door campaign as well as on speeches that all the people can understand.

LIICEANU? Adriean Videanu confirmed in the press conference that Traian Ungureanu could be a PD-L candidate. TRU has been seen permanently during the campaign of Vasile Blaga at the headquarters on 22nd Modrogan street, including the election night. He should run for the 3rd District, but there are a lot of other candidates for this district so he could be transferred to the 4th District. He denies, however, such an offer, but he announced he would answer to it in ten minutes in case it appears. Sources in the PD-L showed for Jurnalul National that Gabriel Liiceanu is also a target. He was proposed to apply even without having entered the party. They also expect a confirmation from Monica Macovei.

Prigoană wants to abolish the Senate

Silviu Prigoană (photo) announced officially yesterday that he will run for a position in the Chamber of Deputies, in a college in the 3rd district that includes the Vitan Way. Unlike Avramescu, he says he is a disciplined soldier. He aims to abolish the Senate and move the Parliament in the National Library. The other branches of PD-L are also seeking notorious people. Names like Gică Hagi or Gica Popescu are presented to the media. However, the greatest certainties in the capital are Elena Udrea for the 6th District, along with former director in the Capital City Hall, Gheorghe Udrişte, the former boyfriend of Mioara Mantale, Silviu Văduva and the Lasermed director, Dr. Bogdan Niculae. Another doctor, Alexander Ciocâlteu will run for the 4th District, along with former minister Dudu Ionescu. The leader of the Federation of National Education, Catalin Croitoru, will also run for the 3rd District.
