Romania - EU: Who Needs Who?

Apparently, the officials of the West-European states don’t take into account the opinions of the people in their countries (which form the actual electorate) as far as the Romanian adherence is concerned, despite the fact that the polls show an extraordinary reluctance of these people towards the Romanians and the Bulgarians. It seems that the West-European leaders put the Romanians in front of their electorate.

Nothing falser! Actually, the West-European leaders take the interest of their countries very seriously. The thing is they see the long-term consequences, but not the immediate effect. The Romanians are not a threat for the jobs of the Occidental workforce and not even the ones that accept the lowest payments don’t ruin the scaffolding of the social privileges obtained by this almost aristocratic workforce. On the contrary, the Romanians, together with other East-Europeans, cover the extremely great workforce deficit in the West, which is supposed to reach 30 million people in the next 10 years. Moreover, they are white, Christian and don’t wear bombs around their bellies. Romania is not the country that consumes the money of the Western tax-payers for reforms it doesn’t actually do. On the contrary, this is the market that takes the repletion out of the Western markets, that takes the languor out of the Occidental economies. As for the transfers of Western-European money towards Romania, the Western tax-payers should know that their states have done the necessary things to ensure them bigger sums in return for the ones that leave their countries. The Western Europe has already taken under control its main axis of the economy. Even if there is short time since this takeover, the financial transfers from and to the European Union aren’t in favor of Romania. Shouldn’t Romania be the unpleased one?

If West-Europeans lose their jobs, it will not be because of the Romanians’ invasion, but because of the more competitive Asian products. If the aristocratic workforce in Western Europe looses their privileges, it will not be because of the extension towards the East, but because the system of social privileges cannot resist without any changes in the globalization conditions.

Because it looses ground in the world competition, the constitutive nucleus of the European Union is looking to stay in front by extending to the East, which offers new markets and new workforce. The union between the cheap workforce in the East and the technology and capital in the West is the chance of the European Union. East stands for fresh blood for the old West.

The West-European leaders perfectly understand these things and act in consequence. A large part of the Western population doesn’t understand or doesn’t want to understand this, because it feels a certain threat.

Romania doesn’t have an alternative for the EU, but the EU needs Romania as well. Is Romania ready for the European club? Is Romania ready for this change? These are wrong questions, because no one is actually interested in these things!
